Q. Favorite spot for a coffee meeting: La Columbe Coffee Roasters

Q. Describe one way how a skill you learned in a previous job helped you in your new job. Managing projects and people in several policy roles helped me learn how to "manage up," set expectations, and communicate with supervisors and leadership. Now, I make it a routine to keep my superiors and leadership up to date on activities, while teaching junior employees how to do the same.

Q. Job advice in three words?  Add value & listen

Q. How are you (or your company, org, nonprofit) currently bridging the gap between politics and tech? At the FCC, my division works on legal and policy issues related to communications network reliability. More broadly, the FCC deals with a variety of telecommunications policy issues on a daily basis.

As the owner of Second Wind Career Strategies, I use online platforms to provide career coaching to job seekers, often with skills and interests in both the tech and policy arenas.

Q: Favorite App(s)? I love Headpsace and Insight Timer for guided meditations.

Q: Favorite Restaurant(s)? I love Blacksalt for a fresh seafood happy hour, Red Hen for delicious Italian food, and Bombay Club for Indian.

Q: Most Embarrassing Work Moment? When interning for a trade association, I was invited to attend a baby shower for a fellow employee. I went into the wrong conference room, which ended up being a board meeting!

Q: Best Advice? When networking, always try to figure out how you can help the other person.
